Meet The Atkins Diet....
This diet is accustomed with weight loss. It was created by Robert Atkins for personal reasons. Atkins wanted to loose weight easily without exercise so he created his own diet after reading a research paper in Journal of the American Medical Association. published by Dr. Alfred. W. Pennington(Thelowcarbgrocery.com, 2017). It is promised by the creator of this diet that a person can lose as much weight as desired by eating meals with high proteins and fat but low carbohydrate (Kris Gunnars, 2017). This diet is based on the fact that the presence of insulin inhibits fat catabolism.
The Atkins Diet involves a plan of four phases. These phases are explained as follows:
Phase 1: In this phase of the diet plan, carbohydrate intake must be below 20 grams everyday for two weeks (Kris Gunnars, 2017). Meals must include high-protein, high-fat, and low-carbohydrate vegetables like broccoli and asparagus (Kris Gunnars, 2017). Meals should have 3 tablespoons of heavy cream for coffees and recipes, 4-6 ounce servings of proteins like meat, good fats like avocado and olive oil, 4 ounces of hard cheese, and 8-10 serving spoons of colourful vegetables (Thelowcarbgrocery.com, 2017).
Phase 2: The carbohydrate intake level is increased by 5 grams every week at this stage (Thelowcarbgrocery.com, 2017). More nuts, low-carbohydrate vegetables, and small amounts of fruits are added to the meals (Kris Gunnars, 2017). This stage is continued until the amount of carbs that can be eaten while losing weight is discovered and the individual is 4.5 kg away from his/her goal(Thelowcarbgrocery.com, 2017).
Phase 3: At this point, the individual should be close to attaining his/her goal (like 10 pounds close) and should gradually increase the intake level of carbohydrates by 10 grams each week until the weight loss process slows down (Thelowcarbgrocery.com, 2017).
Phase 4: As much healthy carbohydrates desired by the individual can be taken as long as it does not affect his/her weight( Kris Gunnars, 2017).
